Bumpy start to this episode due to unrelated issue preventing starting on time. Well, we started on time but there was a few bumps to get into the groove.
Started experiencing serious latency issues with previewing and testing the game. Similar to a system memory cache stuck so rebooted and cleared memory in an effort to improve performance. Seemed to be a little better, but has now revealed a new concern….
In 4-ring game play there are 85 layers. 85 layers with several objects per layer. My assumption is that amount of layers plus objects may be bogging down performance. I need to do more testing, but if that’s the case in 4-ring game play then there will definitely need to be a different strategy for 5-ring game play.
I’ll explore some ideas during Episode 24.
